On arrival, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Kandy. (114 kms/ 3.5 hrs)
Depending on the flight timing, enroute option of visiting the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage which is home to many elephants, including some baby elephants found abandoned, wounded or orphaned in the wild. They are being cared for, fed and trained by the wildlife authorities. At their feeding times, you will have the opportunity of seeing the baby elephants being bottle-fed. Also, you could accompany the elephants to a river close-by to see them bathing.
Then onward to Kandy - the last capital of the Sinhala Kings and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On arrival at Kandy, option of paying your respects at the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, a historic location of both cultural and religious significance. The Temple of the Tooth Relic is greatly venerated as the place that holds the Tooth Relic of the Buddha and thus attracts pilgrims from all over the world. See the serene Kandy Lake that dates back to 1798 and is a great place relax under the shade of the ancient trees.
